Exciting, inspiring work that provides a place to stand on...
About Us
The stories of today’s audiences are filled with a strong need for community, and the artists of our time are left trying to fill that need. We are left to compete with technology, short attention spans, and ourselves.
The Platform Group was formed in early 2010 as a call to action by Artistic Director Shara Ashley Zeiger. Our mission is to create work that challenges, inspires and provides a place to stand on. We seek to elevate our audiences and our creators.
In early 2011 we were fortunate to produce a sold-out run of John Patrick Shanley’s Savage in Limbo. We are proud of the production which lead to a sold-out Off-Broadway run.
"This production is well done, nicely directed, and boasts some fine performances."

"By all means, go. It’s a hilarious, tight little drama, superbly acted by five real pros. " ~Broadwaybox.com
”I’m not one who usually attends these smaller scale productions, though I was pleasantly surprised by the high quality of acting and minimalist set design.” ~NYTimes.com

We are currently embarking on a platform for the homeless situation in NYC that will bring artists, soup kitchen guests and audiences together in a brand new way. As we continue to grow we welcome artists and collaborators in the community to join us as we create platforms, build bridges, and move mountains through theatre.
